Overview

This privacy policy explains how the Video File Inspector Chrome extension, provided by Get Camera Crew, handles information. The extension is a local utility for reading technical video information and comparing it with common publishing profiles.

We do not collect, store, sell, rent or transmit personal information, video files, file names, inspection results or usage analytics through the extension.

Local file processing

The extension accesses only a video file that you deliberately select. Chrome reads the file locally to obtain browser-supported metadata such as duration and dimensions. The extension may also read limited portions of the selected file on your device to identify common format and codec markers and to check MP4 fast-start placement.

The selected video is not uploaded to Get Camera Crew or sent to any third party. The extension does not alter the original file. Temporary browser references used during inspection are released when they are no longer needed or when the extension closes.

Chrome permissions and device access

Video File Inspector requests no Chrome extension permissions. It cannot browse your files automatically and can inspect only the file you select through the file picker.

It does not access browsing history, websites, cookies, saved passwords, camera, microphone, location, contacts or advertising identifiers.

Clipboard use

The extension writes a text inspection report to your clipboard only after you click “Copy report.” It does not read existing clipboard contents and does not copy anything automatically.

External links

Links to Get Camera Crew open only when you choose them. Once you visit an external website, that website’s own privacy policy applies. The extension does not send video metadata through those links.

Data retention and security

Because the extension does not collect or transmit your files or inspection results, Get Camera Crew does not retain them. Local processing reduces exposure, but you should still protect your device and review any report before sharing it with another person.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy if the extension’s functionality or legal requirements change. The revised date at the top of this page will identify the latest version. If a future version begins handling data differently, this policy and the Chrome Web Store disclosure will be updated before that change is released.
