Algiers is one of those cities where you really earn your shoot day. Visa process for crew is slow and you cannot just show up, invitation letters from a local registered entity are required so build that into pre-production timeline.
The Casbah is UNESCO and incredible visually but a local guide is non-negotiable for both access and safety.
French is the working language for most production and business crew so for any interview-heavy work you want a French-speaking producer running the floor, English is patchy.
Crew pool is thinner than Tunis or Casablanca and rates reflect the friction not the depth.
Climate is mild Mediterranean which makes the schedule window genuinely flexible most of the year.
For corporate clients flying in I would brief expectations carefully on pace, things move slower than European cities.
