We covered a corporate shoot in Kiel for a UK-based agency.
Single camera setup with a separate audio tech on location.
Look-out for Kiel: it is a port city in the very north of Germany, the production scene is smaller than Hamburg or Berlin, and you might need to bring crew up from Hamburg to fill specialist roles like a dedicated audio engineer.
We had a small post-shoot scare where the client's editor thought there was no audio on the hard drive, turned out the audio was embedded inside the XMF video files already in sync with the picture, panic over.
Lesson from Kiel: always confirm with the audio tech how they delivered the files and whether audio is separate or embedded, and document that in the wrap report so the editor doesn't have to chase the day after.
Kiel has reliable power and venue infrastructure, English-speaking crew is harder to find than in bigger German cities, so confirm language in the brief.
The flight or train route from Hamburg is the easiest way to reach Kiel for visiting producers.
Good city for documentary or industrial style shoots, not many distractions.
