1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how the Video File Inspector Chrome extension, provided by Get Camera Crew, handles information.
Video File Inspector is designed to inspect technical video information locally on your device. We do not collect, store, sell, rent or transmit your video files, file names, inspection results or personal information through the extension.
2. Local file processing
The extension accesses a video only after you deliberately select it using the file picker.
The selected file is processed locally in Chrome to determine information such as:
- File size and duration
- Resolution and aspect ratio
- Frame rate and estimated bitrate
- Common video and audio codec markers
- MP4 fast-start placement
- Compatibility with common publishing profiles
The extension may read limited portions of the selected file to identify technical format markers. The video is not uploaded to Get Camera Crew or sent to any third party.
Video File Inspector does not modify the original file. Temporary browser references are released when they are no longer required or when the extension closes.
3. Information we collect
Video File Inspector does not collect:
- Video files or their contents
- File names or inspection results
- Personal or contact information
- Browsing history
- Website activity
- Cookies or advertising identifiers
- Analytics or usage statistics
- Location, camera or microphone data
The extension does not use advertising trackers, analytics services, artificial intelligence services or remote processing servers.
4. Chrome permissions
Video File Inspector requests no Chrome extension permissions.
It cannot search or browse files on your device automatically. It can inspect only the individual file that you choose through the file picker.
The extension does not access browsing history, open tabs, websites, cookies, saved passwords, contacts, location, camera or microphone.
5. Clipboard use
The extension can write a text inspection report to your clipboard only after you click “Copy report.”
It does not read your existing clipboard contents and does not copy anything automatically.
6. Data sharing and third parties
Because the extension does not collect or transmit information, Get Camera Crew does not share extension data with third parties.
The extension does not contain advertising, tracking pixels or third-party analytics software.
7. External links
Video File Inspector may include links to the Get Camera Crew website. These links open only when you choose to click them.
The extension does not send your video, its metadata or its inspection results through these links. Once you visit another website, that website’s privacy policy applies.
8. Data retention and security
Get Camera Crew does not retain video files or inspection results because the extension does not transmit or collect them.
Local processing reduces exposure of your files. You should still protect your device and review an inspection report before sharing it with another person.
9. Children’s privacy
Video File Inspector is not specifically directed at children. The extension does not knowingly collect personal information from children or other users.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy if the extension’s functionality or legal requirements change. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page identifies the latest version.
If a future version handles information differently, this policy and the relevant Chrome Web Store disclosures will be updated before that version is released.
