Insights
Cognite brought us in for a project built around a genuinely important moment for the underlying client, a company moving into a new phase of commercialisation and needing its own people to feel that shift before anyone outside the company did. The brief centred on an offsite meeting in Thalwil, Switzerland, where founders and executive team members would be available for interviews over a two-day window, filmed in a way that would go on to shape how employees experienced the transition internally.
For Thalwil, we called on the same local crew we always work with there, a team we know well and trust to move fast and work to our standard without needing to rebuild that relationship from scratch on every project. That familiarity matters on a job like this, where the interviews are sensitive to a company's internal moment and there's no room for a crew still finding its footing on set.
Two distinct pieces came out of the same set of interviews: a short, 2-3 minute motivational video meant to launch internally in September and set the tone for the transition, and a longer, 4-5 minute onboarding video designed to bring new employees into the company's story going forward. Both needed to carry the same visual identity, uplifting, celebratory, and visually engaging, reflecting a brand that wanted this moment to feel like momentum rather than uncertainty.
We ran the shoot as a full-service production: multi-camera coverage of the founder and executive interviews, high-quality audio and lighting built for an offsite environment rather than a studio, and interview transcripts delivered alongside the footage. We also added an extra day for drone capture, bringing in aerial footage of the location to give both videos a wider sense of scale and place beyond what interviews alone could carry. Rather than handing off raw material and stepping away, we carried the project through post-production and editing as well, shaping both the motivational piece and the onboarding video from the same interview and aerial footage while keeping each one true to its own length and purpose.
What made this project matter wasn't just the two finished videos, it was the trust Cognite placed in one team to handle the entire arc: capturing genuine, well-lit, well-recorded conversations with the people leading a company through change, adding the aerial perspective to bring the setting to life, and turning it all into two pieces built to actually connect with employees at a moment when that connection counted.
