Insights

Some of the most important conversations in medicine happen in rooms most people never see, among the clinicians, researchers, and policy experts actually shaping how a disease gets caught earlier. For the European Respiratory Society's Presidential Summit in Warsaw, our job was to get that conversation on camera in a way that matched the weight of the subject.

The Summit, led by ERS President Prof. Joanna Chorostowska-Wynimko, brought together voices from across lung cancer screening, health surveillance systems like ERVISS, AI-driven early detection, and the EU's Biotech Act, experts including David Baldwin, Hilary Robbins, Witold Rzyman, and Phil Taverner, among others, all speaking to where prevention and early detection in respiratory health are headed across Europe. It's dense, expert-level material, and filming it well meant creating an interview environment calm and credible enough to match the seriousness of the discussion, inside a hotel venue rather than a studio.

We ran it with a three-person local crew across a full day and a following morning: the first day covering the Presidential Summit interviews along with general footage to support the final edit, the second day continuing interviews and collecting additional b-roll from the wider conference before wrapping by midday. Good lighting was central to the whole shoot, giving every interview a consistent, polished look regardless of the time of day or which corner of the venue it was filmed in, so a room repurposed for a day and a half read as a proper interview set throughout.

From there, we carried the project through to a finished edit, cutting expert interviews and conference b-roll into the kind of piece ERS could put directly in front of its audience: clear, credible, and focused on the ideas rather than the production around them. It's the kind of project we take real pride in, not because of the scale, but because of who was in the room and what they were talking about.
