Insights
GEP Netherlands runs a full calendar of events throughout the year, and this one carried real weight, important enough that they wanted both photography and video coming out of the day, not just one or the other. The challenge wasn't the schedule or the content, it was the room itself: a dark venue with limited natural light, the kind of space that wasn't built with filming in mind.
Rather than fight that with a heavy lighting rig, we leaned into gear built to work with low light rather than against it, shooting on the Sony A7III for its large sensor and strong low-light performance, letting the camera pull in what light the room actually had rather than trying to flood the space artificially. That approach let us move quickly across the day, capturing candid moments, highlight footage, and interviews without needing to stop and rebuild lighting for every setup.
What came out of the day went well beyond a simple recap. The footage and photography were shaped into case study material and sent out by email, both to attendees who wanted to relive the event and to people who couldn't make it in person. That second audience is where the value really showed: the video effectively paid for itself, extending the reach of a single event day to everyone who missed it, turning one difficult room into content that kept working long after the event itself was over.
