Project details

Client: Fast Company
Location: Mexico City, Mexico
Duration: 3 days (7-9 April 2026)
Scope: Local crew support (producer, audio, lighting, and production assistance), camera and camera gear provided by the visiting team
Setups: 1-2 subject interviews with dedicated lighting

Supporting a visiting production team

Fast Company brought their own core creative team into Mexico City for this one, their own DP and second camera operator handling the camera side of the production. What they needed from us was the local infrastructure to support that team on the ground: a bilingual producer who could work fluently in both English and Spanish, an audio technician with their own gear, a gaffer bringing lighting and grip equipment, and two production assistants, ideally an English-speaking crew throughout, to make sure a visiting team could move through three days in a new city without language or logistics slowing anything down.

That kind of support role is a different discipline than running the whole production ourselves, and it's one we're built for. Rather than shaping the visual direction, our job was to make the visiting team's own vision land cleanly: lighting built specifically around one and two-subject interview setups, audio captured cleanly and reliably, and a producer able to bridge communication with local vendors, locations, and crew in both languages so nothing got lost in translation across three days of production.

Keeping production moving

The value of a local crew in a city like Mexico City isn't just about cost, it's about removing friction. A visiting team can focus entirely on the creative work in front of them when the local support around them, the gaffer who knows the gear, the audio tech who knows how to solve problems on the fly, the bilingual producer keeping every conversation moving, is handling everything else. That's what let Fast Company's own team execute their vision over three days in Mexico City with a local crew that made the city feel like an extension of their production, not an obstacle to it.
