Static Meets Movement: B-Roll and Interview Coverage in Geneva

Our client needed coverage in Geneva that combined two very different visual languages in a single shoot: structured, steady interviews alongside dynamic, natural B-roll, the kind of pairing that gives a finished edit both grounding and energy.

Details

Location: Geneva, Switzerland
Duration: 1 day (20 June 2026)
Format: B-roll and interview coverage
Crew: DOP, Sound Operator
Gear: 1 static camera, 1 gimbal camera

We built the setup around that contrast deliberately. A static camera anchored the interview segments, giving them the calm, considered look that lets a subject's words carry the moment. Alongside it, a gimbal camera handled the B-roll, moving fluidly through spaces and moments in a way a locked-off shot never could, capturing texture and movement that brings the surrounding footage to life. A DOP ran both camera styles across the day, while a dedicated sound operator kept audio clean throughout, so neither the interviews nor the B-roll ever felt like an afterthought to the other.

That combination, static for stillness, gimbal for motion, is a simple idea that does a lot of work in the edit. It gives Atomized Studios footage that cuts together with real contrast built in, structured interview moments set against B-roll that actually moves, all captured by a lean two-person crew working in sync across a single day in Geneva.
