Insights
Tonic Agency needed a single day to shoot inside Open Society Foundations' New York office, capturing questions-to-camera style interviews alongside B-roll of the people who work there, footage meant to feel like a real look inside the organization rather than a formal, staged production.
We sourced a local videographer for the job, someone comfortable moving between two very different registers in the same day: sitting subjects down for structured questions-to-camera responses, then shifting into observational B-roll of staff working in their own space. That kind of range matters on a one-day office shoot, where there's no second day to come back for what got missed, and where the B-roll needs to feel natural rather than posed even though a camera is clearly in the room.
Working inside Open Society Foundations' own headquarters also meant respecting the rhythm of a real, active workplace, capturing people and moments without disrupting the day around them. Between the interviews and the B-roll, the shoot delivered Tonic Agency a complete set of footage from a single day on-site, giving them both the direct, on-camera answers they needed and the texture of the organization around them.
