Preparing two venues for reliable recording

Sonas Events needed straightforward, reliable session recording across two conferences in the same week, one in Chicago, one in LA, each running a full day and each needing the same clean, no-frills output: individual files per session, clean stop and start with nothing to edit out, and every file kept under 2GB so they'd be easy to send and use right away.

Simple as the brief sounded, getting it right depended on two things we made sure were in place before either shoot day started. First, we reached out to each venue ahead of time to talk through audio, confirming what each space could offer so the recordings would come through clean without last-minute surprises once the sessions were underway. Second, we made sure an experienced cameraman was on static camera for each location, someone who could be trusted to manage a full day of back-to-back sessions solo, starting and stopping cleanly between each one without needing direction on the day.

Session files ready to use

Running it as a one-person crew per city kept the footprint light for what was, in practice, two separate full-day shoots in two different cities within the same week. With the venue audio sorted out in advance and an experienced operator handling the camera at each location, Sonas Events got exactly what they asked for from both Chicago and LA: clean, individually filed session recordings, ready to use with no editing required.
