Amman for Corporate Video: Jordan's Stable Hashemite Capital
Amman is the capital of Jordan and a notably stable corporate production location in the Middle East. The Jordanian economy is built around services (banking, healthcare, education), tourism (Petra is one of the world's most iconic destinations), pharmaceutical manufacturing (Jordan is a substantial regional pharma manufacturing hub), and remittances. The major Jordanian banks include Arab Bank (one of the most important Arab banking groups, historically headquartered in Jerusalem before relocating to Amman), the Housing Bank for Trade and Finance, Jordan Kuwait Bank, and Jordan Islamic Bank. Amman serves as a regional headquarters base for many multinational firms operating across the Levant given the country's political stability relative to neighbors. For corporate productions involving Jordanian business, Levantine regional work, or distinctive Middle Eastern heritage content, Amman is the natural location.
The Pharma Manufacturing Anchor
Jordan has built one of the Middle East's most substantial pharmaceutical manufacturing industries with Hikma Pharmaceuticals (FTSE 100 listed, one of the largest generic pharma companies globally), Dar Al Dawa, Pharmaceutical Solutions Industry (PSI), and dozens of other Jordanian pharma firms. The industry exports across the Middle East, Africa, and Europe. The substantial sector generates corporate communications work and supports a pharma-fluent local production capability.
Industry Landscape
Pharmaceuticals anchored by Hikma and the broader Jordanian pharma manufacturing sector. Banking with Arab Bank and the major Jordanian banks. Tourism with Petra (one of the New Seven Wonders of the World), Wadi Rum, the Dead Sea, and Jerash. Telecommunications with Zain Jordan, Orange Jordan, and Umniah. Education with substantial university and language teaching activity. ICT services with the growing King Hussein Business Park and Boulevard Abdali developments.
Where Corporate Shoots Happen
Abdali (the major modern business district) holds the King Abdullah I Mosque, modern corporate towers, and the Boulevard Abdali development. The Sweifieh district holds modern commercial and corporate activity. Rainbow Street and the Citadel area hold the historic center iconic for brand B-roll. The Dead Sea resort area (about 60 minutes from Amman) holds substantial conference facilities.
Crew Base
Amman has a working production crew base built around the local commercial production industry, the pharma corporate communications demand, and Jordan's role as a regional production base for Middle Eastern shoots. Many Hollywood productions have shot in Jordan (Star Wars, Dune, Lawrence of Arabia, The Martian) supporting a deep technical crew pool.
Climate
Mediterranean with continental influence given the elevation (Amman sits at about 800 meters). Hot dry summers and cool wet winters with occasional snow. Best outdoor shooting weather April through October.

Time Zone
Jordan operates on Eastern European Time (EET, UTC+2) winter and Eastern European Summer Time (EEST, UTC+3) summer. Jordan announced moving to permanent UTC+3 in recent years; confirm current local time when planning.
Language
Arabic is the official language. English is widely used in business, banking, pharma industry, and international corporate contexts. Jordan has high English proficiency in professional sectors.
Currency
Jordanian Dinar (JOD), pegged to the US Dollar at approximately 1.41 USD per JOD. Most international B2B production work is invoiced in JOD or USD.
Electrical Standards, Frame Rate
230V at 50Hz. Type B, C, D, F, and G plugs are all encountered (mixed US, European, UK, and Indian styles). Bring versatile adapters. Default 25fps PAL or 23.976fps for commercial work given the 50Hz electrical frequency.
Airport
Queen Alia International Airport (AMM) handles direct flights to most major Middle Eastern, European, and some Asian and North American business cities. Royal Jordanian operates substantial network connections. About 35 to 45 minutes from central Amman.
Pharma Facility Access
For shoots inside Hikma, Dar Al Dawa, or other GMP-regulated pharma manufacturing facilities, advance security clearance, NDA execution, gowning protocols, and FDA/EMA-aware production planning apply. Lead times of 4 to 8 weeks are typical.
Permits
The Royal Film Commission Jordan handles filming permits and operates well-developed film incentive programs. Jordan is one of the most film-friendly Middle Eastern countries. Lead times of 2 to 4 weeks are typical for standard corporate work.
Customs and Equipment
ATA Carnets are accepted.
