Las Vegas for Corporate Video: The Convention Capital

I have run productions in most major US cities over the years, and Las Vegas is the easiest convention city I work in. The Las Vegas Convention Center, Mandalay Bay Convention Center, and Caesars Forum together host millions of attendees annually across major industry shows. CES in January, NAB Show in April, MJBizCon in November, and SHRM, RSA, World of Concrete, and dozens of other major B2B events run through the city's venue calendar.

What Makes Vegas Work

Three things. First, venues are purpose-built for production at scale: broadcast-grade power, fast load-in, AV infrastructure that has hosted years of live television. Second, the hotel block is enormous, so executive talent and crew can stay walking distance to the venue. Third, the local crew base has grown around the convention industry. Camera operators, audio engineers, vision mixers, and live streaming operators are based here year-round.

Where Corporate Shoots Happen

The Strip is the obvious answer for most conference and trade show productions. Beyond the Strip, downtown's Fremont area handles smaller corporate events. Summerlin and Henderson hold quieter corporate offices for executive interview work.

The 24-Hour Operating Reality

Las Vegas runs around the clock. Venues and hotels operate 24/7, which is useful for broadcasts to European or Asian audience time zones. A 6 AM keynote live to Tokyo or a midnight repackage for European morning news works easily here.

Climate

Mojave desert: hot, dry summers, mild winters. Outdoor B-roll needs planning around midday heat in summer. Indoor work is unaffected.

USD. 120V at 60Hz. Type A and B plugs. Default 29.97fps or 23.976fps.

Airport

Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) sits 10 minutes from the Strip. Direct connections to most major US business cities and many international routes. For executives flying in for a keynote and out the same day, Vegas is one of the most logistically efficient US cities.

Venue Coordination

For productions at the Las Vegas Convention Center or Mandalay Bay Convention Center, advance coordination with the venue's preferred AV partners (Encore is the most common) is part of any production plan. Outside vendors can work in these venues but sometimes incur additional venue fees.

Permits

Most corporate shoots inside venues or hotel ballrooms do not need city permits. For exterior shots on the Strip, the gaming properties own the property and grant access case by case. The Las Vegas Film Office handles permits for shoots on public streets.
