Atlantic City for Corporate Video: Conferences and Casinos
Atlantic City sits on the New Jersey shore, two and a half hours from New York and one hour from Philadelphia. The local economy runs on gaming, hospitality, and conferences. For corporate video work, the city makes sense for two specific kinds of projects: industry conferences hosted at the Atlantic City Convention Center or casino properties, and corporate retreats and team off-sites at the major casino resorts.
Conference Venues
The Atlantic City Convention Center is one of the larger conference complexes on the US East Coast outside the major hub cities. It connects directly to a hotel block and the boardwalk. Several casino properties also operate independent conference and meeting facilities at scale, including Hard Rock, Borgata, Ocean Casino Resort, Caesars, and Tropicana. For corporate event coverage, each of these has experienced AV teams that have hosted years of major shows.
Cost Compared to NYC
Atlantic City corporate productions typically cost less to mount than the equivalent shoot in Manhattan. Crew day rates, hotel costs, and venue rental are lower. For corporate teams who need a conference experience without New York pricing, AC is a workable alternative.
Production Infrastructure
The local production crew base is smaller than the major media cities. For most projects, we work with a hybrid crew: a local AC base augmented by camera, sound, or specialty operators from New York or Philadelphia driving in for the shoot. This works because both cities are an easy drive.
Climate and Season
AC has cold winters (heavy storms occasionally close the boardwalk area), warm summers, and a mild spring and fall that work well for outdoor B-roll. The major conference seasons run spring and fall, with summer dominated by leisure tourism.

Time Zone
Eastern Time (ET): EST in winter (UTC-5), EDT in summer (UTC-4). Same as New York.
Language
English is the working language.
Currency
US Dollar (USD). Standard US B2B payment methods.
Electrical Standards
Mains is 120V at 60Hz. Type A and Type B plugs. Conference and casino venues have broadcast-grade power as part of their event infrastructure.
Frame Rate
The United States is a 60Hz region. Default frame rates are 29.97fps for broadcast and 23.976fps for commercial and current corporate work.
Travel and Airports
Atlantic City International Airport (ACY) handles a limited number of routes. Most visiting talent and crew fly into Philadelphia (PHL, about 60 miles west) or Newark (EWR, about 95 miles north) and drive or take car service. For executives based in NYC, the drive from Manhattan to AC takes roughly two and a half hours under normal traffic.
Permits
For shoots inside casino properties and the convention center, no city permit is needed but venue approval is required. Casino properties have strict rules about filming on gaming floors and require specific clearance for any production on those areas. For exterior shoots on the boardwalk, basic handheld work is generally tolerated; tripod-based or larger setups need a boardwalk permit from the city.
