Valencia for Corporate Video: Spain's Growing Tech and Logistics Hub
I have shot in Valencia regularly over the past few years as the city has built one of Spain's most active tech and logistics corporate environments. Valencia is Spain's third-largest city, holds the Ford Almussafes plant (one of Ford's largest European production facilities), is home to the major port of Valencia (one of the largest container ports in the Mediterranean), and has attracted a significant tech sector centered on the La Marina district and the broader startup ecosystem. For corporate productions involving Spanish automotive, Mediterranean port logistics, or the growing Valencia tech scene, Valencia is the right location.
Industry Landscape
Automotive manufacturing anchored by Ford Almussafes (about 15 minutes south of central Valencia) is the largest single industrial employer. Port and shipping built around the Port of Valencia, the largest container port in Spain. Tech and startups have grown rapidly with Lanzadera (Juan Roig's startup accelerator) anchoring a substantial ecosystem. IBM has significant Valencia operations. Tourism and agriculture (citrus and rice production in the surrounding region) remain important.
Where Corporate Shoots Happen
Central Valencia around Plaza del Ayuntamiento holds traditional corporate offices. The City of Arts and Sciences area is iconic for modern brand B-roll. La Marina holds the tech district. Almussafes holds the Ford plant.
Crew Base
Valencia has a working production crew base built around the local advertising market, the tech sector, and the established commercial production demand. For larger productions, crews are sometimes augmented from Madrid or Barcelona.
Climate
Mediterranean. Hot dry summers, mild winters. Best outdoor shooting weather April through October.
Production Logistics in Valencia
Reference for projects in eastern Spain.
Time Zone
Central European Time (CET, UTC+1) winter, Central European Summer Time (CEST, UTC+2) summer.
Language
Spanish and Valencian (a variant of Catalan, co-official locally) are the official languages. English is encountered in international corporate and tech contexts.
Currency
Euro (EUR).
Electrical Standards, Frame Rate
230V at 50Hz. Type C and F plugs (European standard). Default 25fps PAL or 23.976fps for commercial work.
Airport
Valencia Airport (VLC) handles direct flights to most major European business cities. About 20 minutes from central Valencia. AVE high-speed rail connects Valencia to Madrid in about 90 minutes.
Industrial Facility Access
For Ford Almussafes plant access, advance security clearance, NDA execution, and safety protocols (PPE, escort) apply. Lead times of 4 to 6 weeks are typical. Port of Valencia filming requires coordination with the Port Authority.
Permits
Valencia municipality handles filming permits. Lead times of 1 to 2 weeks are typical for standard corporate work. For Las Fallas festival period (early March), all production resources tighten significantly.
